Halloween 2016

“The standard for the pumpkin competition was extremely high and made judging very difficult. In the end the spider won and the skeleton with the big eyes came second. We even had a cat with ears and a galleon! The volunteers at the library provided some spectacularly gruesome food. Green wide-mouthed frogs with red tongues, brain buns with maggots, witches fingers and Dracula blood buns. All of which tasted delicious. The winner of the fancy dress was the “Dead Doll”. The haunted houses from a shoe box were all very innovative too: including one with a graveyard in the garden (the lid of the box). One little boy found all of the ninewitches hidden in the library – well done! And George was only one off the “Guess the number of eyes in the jar”. We had a really good night and the library was heaving with witches, Boggarts and other beings! The drinks were plasma and blood and for grown ups too! (AKA Green lemonade and blackcurrant juice, and red and white wine)”
