Derwent Valley Bridge had their Annual General Meeting on 3rd October 2019 when the annual report was presented to the members. There were elections for the three vacancies that had arisen on the board of trustees. All three vacancies were filled by the trustees that were willing to stand again for re-election. The library is in a healthy financial position but cannot afford to be complacent and must continue to fundraise and apply for grants to continue the good work that it does in the community. The library is in its 46th year and has existed in its present “volunteer run” incarnation for 7 of those years. We are grateful for the support of NYCC, local parish councils, our friends group, home library service volunteers, but most of all to our 65 volunteers who work very hard, keeping the library running to the same opening hours as it had under the NYCC, our fundraisers, gardening team, cleaners, and maintenance team. We do have a core of volunteers that have been there a few years but have room for more, so if you’re interested in becoming a volunteer or a trustee please contact the library and we will take it from there. You do not have to give lots of time, as little or as much as you would like.
