We are starting a new venture next month – experimenting with an afternoon talk on March 26th 2pm – 4pm. It is to cater for people who are not able to attend in the evenings or don’t like coming out at night
Our first speaker will be Ken Braithwaite a local author whose second novel “The Wild Rover’s Revenge” was published in December 2019. It is a stirring tale of cattle droving which in the early 1800s was a hard and dangerous job full of risks and perils. The story focuses on young Jack Rutherford as he sets out on his first solo drove.
Tickets for all the talks are £4 (including refreshments) and can be obtained from the Community Library, 3 Pickering Road, West Ayton, telephone 01723 863052. Space is limited so advance booking is advisable if you don’t want to miss out.
