Celebrating local support…

The Community Library is fortunate to benefit from the support of local businesses. The staff at Spar in East Ayton wore ‘A Day at the Seaside’ fancy dress over the August Bank Holiday weekend, rattled their tins and reaped in excess of £717.32 from generous customers. An amazing result! We are very grateful to everyone for their effort and contribution.dscf5043

Irton Garden Centre has once again donated bedding plants to our colourful, well-tended and award-winning garden. Don French Signs sponsored the clematis plants growing up the library walls. The garden gives a lot of pleasure and is noticed by everyone who passes by.

Prontaprint now supply all our paper free of charge which is a significant contribution to our daily running costs. Cooplands donate bakery products for our fundraising events, maximising the profit we make.

Other businesses gifted the wonderful prizes for the Grand Summer Draw, which was drawn on Saturday, 17th September and raised a magnificent £766.

Our sincere and grateful thanks go to:

AJ Tubbs, North York Moors Railway, Walkers Restaurant, A&M Tubbs, Proudfoots, The Forge Valley Inn, Alan Stuttle, Original Chocolate Dream Company, Fred Normandale, Aucklands Garage (Staxton), Moneyweb (Ayton), Foxhounds Inn (Flixton), Wykeham Estates, PJ Hair Design, Deans Garden Centre, The Anvil Inn (Sawdon), Hansons.

Thanks must also go to individual supporters, those who bought tickets and the volunteers who organised the draw, especially Margaret Barker.

We are hugely grateful for one-off support as well as regular commitments.

More than £8000 is needed every year to sustain the library, which is a herculean fundraising task!
