Volunteer Week

Volunteers’ Week is a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK. It takes place 1-7 June every year and is an opportunity to celebrate volunteering in all its diversity.

On 6th June Derwent Valley Bridge held an afternoon tea for all the volunteers involved in keeping the DVB running so successfully.

It was also a chance to say a HUGE “Thank You” to Suzanne Carr who has been with the library since it opened as a voluntary run community resource in 2012. Suzanne is retiring from the library to concentrate on other things but has promised to still pop down to help look after the garden.

Also ‘Thanks’ go to Margaret Partington who is retiring due to ill health. Thanks for all you have done. We hope you will keep visiting us in the library and coming to the events.
